Secretary of State-elect Wes Allen has announced his intention to withdraw from the Electronic Registration Information Center, a collaboration between 33 states aimed at cross-checking voter registration data.
The interstate voter registration center cross-checks information with other states’ databases to help identify voter fraud. But the secretary of state-elect will withdraw Alabama to protect personal data.
Lee County residents will get the opportunity to cast their votes for a number of local and state-wide races when polls open on Tuesday for the General Election.
