Local News: Hanna still in custody despite bond reduction (5/4/21)

Tuesday, May 4, 2021 One of three men facing first-degree murder charges in the 2018 slaying of a Eureka Springs man remained in jail in Harrison on Monday, despite recently having his bond significantly reduced. Charles Hanna Charles Ky Hanna, 32, of Berryville is being held in the Boone County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond. His bond originally was set at $1 million after his first judicial appearance before Carroll County District Judge Dale Ramsey on Feb. 8, but Carroll County Circuit Judge Scott Jackson issued an order April 23 to reduce the bond. Deputies from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office found Alvard’s body inside his home near Eureka Springs on Feb. 8, 2018, after Alvard’s mother discovered that the door to the residence had been kicked in and there was a large amount of blood on the front porch, according to a probable-cause affidavit written by special agent Dale Bailey of the Arkansas State Police.
