"We just wanted to get outside and maybe tan or see if the water was warm enough yet, get in the water a little bit," Lensegrav said.
Minnehaha County s emergency management director says there s over $900,000 in damages to public infrastructure, power lines, tree debris cleanup and personnel hours.
Minnehaha County commissioners voted unanimously to declare the county a "disaster area," in case any federal assistance is available for storm damage.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) The Minnehaha County Commission lifted an open burn ban Wednesday.
The commission enacted the ban on June 22 because of dry conditions.
