ANN ARBOR, MI In response to Freedom of Information Act requests from The Ann Arbor News/MLive, Ann Arbor has released dozens more records showing outcomes of citizen complaints against police from 2019 and 2020.
This includes 27 Ann Arbor Police Department response letters to complainants and a new spreadsheet of outcomes of complaints from 2019.
Until recently, the city refused to disclose what discipline, if any, resulted from citizen complaints against police officers. The information was denied under FOIA and was not being provided to the city’s citizen-led police oversight commission.
