Rolling Hills construction project clears another hurdle State funding approved
BYESVILLE, Ohio–The Rolling Hills construction project cleared a major hurdle even before the Board of Education convened Thursday evening.
Hours before the school board meeting, the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) announced the funding for six state wide school construction projects, with the Rolling Hills Local School District among the six.
The local share, 51%, of the Rolling Hills project totals $22,363,610 and will be provided through an agreement with the Guernsey Power Station. The state will then provide $21,486,605 or approximately 49% of the total cost.
The basic construction plans call for renovations to Meadowbrook High School for grades 6-12 and construction of a new facility on the district campus, to house grades K-5. Current plans call for abandoning Secrest, Byesville, Brook and the middle school buildings. It’s unclear if they would be sold or demol
