WEST ALEXANDRIA Twin Valley Community Local School District Board of Education members and administrators discussed plans to begin offering preschool services to district residents during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, April 27.
Superintendent Scott Cottingim updated the board on plans for the district’s new preschool program.
“It is really filling up quickly,” Cottingim said of the waitlist for the program. “It’s been a massive undertaking requiring a whole lot of research, and we’re still learning.”

WEST ALEXANDRIA Twin Valley Community Local School District Board of Education members and administrators discussed food service issues and other concerns during their second monthly meeting of 2021 on Monday, Feb. 22.
Food Service Director Alex Williams reported that the district had received approximately $45,000 in reimbursement funding for the month of January, allowing them to show a profit of $6,280 on breakfasts and lunches.
Twin Valley Community Local School District holds first Board of Education meeting of 2021

WEST ALEXANDRIA Twin Valley Community Local School District Board of Education members held their first monthly meeting of the new year on Wednesday, Jan. 6.
Board president Tim Beneke was re-elected to that post by unanimous vote near the top of Wednesday’s meeting. Beneke then nominated board member Christine Bitner to serve as Vice President. Both were subsequently sworn into office by school district treasurer Tearalee Riddlebarger.
Superintendent Scott Cottingim announced that January is School Board Member Appreciation Month.
“I want to formally recognize each of our board members for all they do for our school and our students,” Cottingim said before handing out certificates of appreciation to each of the assembled board members.
