Bloomington, Minn. (FOX 9) - When stages went dark across the world last year due to the pandemic, theater artists were forced to evolve. For a trio of stage managers here in the Twin Cities, they found work managing a completely different kind of show.
Tim Markus was stage managing a production of Kinky Boots when the pandemic curtain came crashing down. In theater it s our work, it s our life, it s our extended family. And it was all kind of taken away, Markus said. So it was adjusting sort of not just working all the time, but mentally, What am I going to do with my life?

Like many people, theater artist Jason Clusman lost his job because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, his new gig might help him get the old one back.
A stage manager whose shows at the Guthrie Theater include multiple stagings of A Christmas Carol, Clusman, 40, was laid off along with about 200 others last spring. By June, he had shifted the organizational skills that made him one of the top theatrical stage managers in town to helping stage manage the response to the pandemic.

MOUNTAIN IRON, Minn.– Mountain Iron is one of the places administering the COVID-19 vaccine to adults over 65 education and child care workers as part of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s new vaccine pilot program.
COVID-19 vaccinations are ramping up in St. Louis County with more than 10,000 shots given out so far. And over in Mountain Iron, the next step in vaccinations is starting off in a big way.
Mountain Iron-Buhl High School became a big vaccination clinic on Friday. Mountain Iron is just one of nine sites part of the state’s effort to vaccinate all parts of Minnesota.
