Eight United States Air Force F-15 Eagle tactical fighter jets touched down at Ämari air base Monday, ahead of the Baltic Trident Exercise.
The planes, F-15C and F-15E Strike Eagle variants, will be conducting low-flying exercises aimed at coordination with forward observers and commanders and other tactical and target exercises, as well as cooperation with personnel from Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Poland and the U.K., in addition to Estonia

Service selects F-35A location overseas
ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, United Kingdom The 48th Fighter Wing has selected a new nickname for the first U.S. Air Force overseas-based F-35A Lightning II squadron.
The wing solicited help from the public to name the unit. Suggestions were originally submitted in the fall of 2020 and were narrowed down from 700 names to five finalists. In December, the 48th Fighter Wing received thousands of votes from opinion polls, and the wing recently announced the 495th Fighter Squadron will be called the “Valkyries,” besting four other choices – Archangels, Sabres, Sentinels and Swordsmen.
In Norse mythology, Valkyries are female figures who choose those that will live or die in battle. RAF Lakenheath is in the east of the United Kingdom, an area with extensive Viking and Norse history. Additionally, the 495th FS motto, “Mala Ipsa Nova,” in,
