Lobo football: No Wednesday signees, but two transfers are enrolled

Copyright © 2021 Albuquerque Journal University of New Mexico football coach Danny Gonzales is not allowed to talk about recruits who haven’t signed with the Lobos per NCAA rules. However, his comments Wednesday could leave the majority to connect the dots to a pair of Clovis players who have reportedly received offers from UNM. Clovis running back Jeston Webskowski and linebacker Ernesto Acuna said on Twitter Tuesday night they were each offered a scholarship to play for the Lobos. Defensive end/linebacker Jaden Phillips of Clovis was among 21 signees for the Lobos in December. There were no UNM signings to announce Wednesday, but there could be recruiting news in the coming days.

Arizona prep star is eager to join Lobo QB competition

Milacek, who made figurative fireworks when he announced his commitment to UNM on the Fourth of July via Twitter, is one of at least 18 recruits expected to sign with the Lobos on Wednesday. It was a challenging recruiting process for UNM, with a first-year coach, Danny Gonzales and recruits who were restricted from official visits due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent recruiting rules.
