Jasean Dale was convicted last month of murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury in the death of LaVon Drake, who prosecutors say was lured to a vacant house to deliver pizza before he was killed in August 2018.
“Lavon Drake was a good young man who led by example. He worked hard and was senselessly murdered while simply doing his job,” Prosecutor Ryan Mears said in a statement Tuesday. “My thoughts are with the Drake family as they continue to show dignity and grace while we work to bring them justice.”
Dale was one of three men charged in Drake s killing. Juwann Terry was handed a 60-year sentence in August 2019 after pleading guilty to murder and robbery. The case against the other man involved, Jason Epeards, is pending.
