Tomar’s open letter comes soon after he met Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah along with Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal to discuss the ongoing farmers’ agitation. According to PTI, the meeting was held at the BJP head office in New Delhi and was also attended by the party’s general secretaries CT Ravi, Dushyant Gautam and Arun Singh among others. It lasted for more than an hour.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court acknowledged the right of farmers to non-violent protests and suggested that the Centre put on hold the implementation of the three contentious farm laws as it was thinking of setting up an “impartial and independent” panel of agriculture experts, which may include experts like P Sainath, and farmer unions to resolve the impasse.

CHANDIGARH: Dubbing the AAP leader a “coward who had run scared and apologised” when cornered in a defamation case by SAD’s Bikram Majithia, Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh on Monday said Arvind Kejriwal’s desperate attempts to hide his government’s “utter failure” to protect the farmers interests will not save him from their wrath, nor will they safeguard his party from being decimated in the next Punjab Assembly elections.
“Just as every Punjabi knows that I am not one to be cowed down by any amount of false ED or other cases, they also know that you will sell your soul if it serves your purpose,” Amarinder said, in response to Kejriwal’s statement.

New Delhi/Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], December 15 (ANI): Amidst the ongoing farmers protest against the farm laws, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his counterpart Captain Amarinder Singh are engaged in a war of words on Twitter.
Singh alleged that Kejriwal sold off the interests of farmers. Kejriwal responded to his allegations and said that Singh was part of the committee which drafted the Farm Bills. Just as every Punjabi knows, I am not one to be cowed down by ED or other cases, you Mr @ArvindKejriwal will even sell your soul if it serves your political purposes. If you think farmers are going to be taken in by your dramatics then you are totally mistaken, Singh said in a tweet.
