Melbourne Police Special Investigations Unit, SWAT Team Seize Drugs in Raid On East Avenue B

The Melbourne Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit and SWAT team, accompanied by members from the Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole, conducted a search warrant on Friday on a residence located at 29 East Avenue B. According to Melbourne Police Lt. Ryan Schorer, Special Investigations Unit detectives obtained the warrant based upon an ongoing investigation into drug distribution and sales coming from this location and arrested Jarod Parrish, 40, who was charged with Violation of Felony Probation.

It’s part of a study by Vanderbilt University Medical Center designed to bring preventative care to Black men, meeting them where they go for a haircut. The clinical pharmacist has become such a fixture that barbershop patrons have taken to calling him “Blood Pressure Man.”
