At some point on the evening of Saturday, February 26, after the Duke men’s basketball game at Syracuse ends, Blue Devil Network Senior Producer Nolan Elingburg, Duke Men’s Basketball Creative Content Producer Stephen Ochoa and Creative Director David Bradley will get a chance to check their phones and see if they helped Duke rack up one more win.
On Saturday, the thermometer hit 78 degrees in Durham. Two days later, snow came. While that brought a sense of whiplash, the feel of large snow flakes falling couldn't help but bring many smiles out. Jared Lazarus of Digital and Brand Strategy in University Communications caught the excitement on campus as people walked through the falling snow on West Campus.
In July of 2004, Paul Manning was hired by Duke University to oversee a major renovation to the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. Manning, who had a long career in construction management first in his native Chicago and later in New York, was ready for something new. He’d grown tired of long commutes and the fast pace of construction projects that reshape big city skylines.
In honor of World Lemur Day on Oct. 29, the Duke Lemur Center invited a virtual audience to brunch with the rare animals. On the menu: nuts and mixed greens. The morning feeding session took place at the research center housed in the Duke Forest, where – during the warm months of the year – lemurs bound through more than 80 acres of woods. Founded in 1966, the center is now home to more than 200 lemurs representing 14 different species, making it the most diverse colony of lemurs outside of Madagascar.
