It is now backtracking on recent guidance on how the virus spread in fact it was just last friday that the cdc posted an update on coronavirus saying that the virus spreads through small airborne particles. The friday posting said covid can remain in the air for longer and travel farther than 6 feet and added that singing and breathing to the ways that the virus can go airborne. But today, the cdc said that update was a mistake. The cdc has come under attack for backtracking several times during the pandemic critics say the inconsistent messages erode the agencys credibility. The intensity of the smoke has been so great and the inversion layer has held it in place so long that air quality in almost every part of california is very unhealthy. So, were struggling. People are feeling the health effects. Many have been evacuated and unfortunately many have lost homes. You say its been a tough summer. Compare it to 2018, which is known as the worst wild fire season on record, 103 confirmed dead that year, nearly 2 million acre of land burned. Are we getting close to that . Were way beyond it in terms of the acreage burned. Thankfully we have not lost as many lives as in 2017 and 2018. Remember that 2018 was bad. That was the paradise fire.
