On March 10, 2020, Governor Charlie Baker declared a state of emergency in Massachusetts to respond to the threat of COVID-19. At the time, there were 91 “presumed positive cases” in the state. A year later, COVID-19 has infected nearly 600,000 people in the state. Nearly 16,000 people have died. And we have spent a year apart.
