That much was certain on Saturday morning as the Indian faithful gathered once more in Willie Adams Stadium to celebrate their 2020 state football champions. “This was great for the players, our coaches, the band was here, our cheerleaders and our fans, so it was great to experience,” said Pinson Valley head football coach Sam Shade. “We weren’t able to do it in December but it was good to have it today and it was a pretty nice day for it.”

But, the illness, named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO), actually began in 2019. Health experts first identified the virus in Wuhan, China. Although many people reported little to no symptoms, some have reported severe illness. Around 1.72 deaths have been attributed to coronavirus. A person can remain infectious for up to two weeks after catching COVID-19.
