In a serious concerning outbreak, the vector-borne disease Japanese Encephalitis (JE) has claimed eleven lives in Assam this year so far, according to the officials.
Most numbers of 44 cases have been detected in Nagaon, followed by Jorhat with 39 cases. A total of 34 cases have also been reported from Golaghat so far.
Japanese Encephalitis: Three fresh cases were reported from Assam s Golaghat district, two each from Sivasagar and Sonitpur along with one each from Goalpara and Kokrajhar districts.
