The Japan Sports Agency has delayed plans to privatise the National
Stadium which was the main venue for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and
Paralympics - although it could still face annual public subsidies of
around JPY 1 billion (£6.2 million/$7.5 million/€7.0 million).
The Japan Sports Agency on Dec. 28 said it will subsidize operating costs of the National Stadium by up to 1 billion yen ($7.46 million) a year, even after the private sector takes over the facility.
