EXETER – George and Phillips owner Bert Freedman vividly remembers visiting local high schools and UNH track meets with his father to pitch runners on the newest cutting-edge running shoe.
The shoe was made in a factory in Exeter owned by an up-and-coming brand called Nike in the 1970s.
Fast forward nearly a half-century later, Freedman said his family’s business connection with Nike will come “full circle.” The store is getting exclusive access to sell pairs of the new Exeter Edition running shoes, which pays homage to the company s roots in Exeter.
Nike is only offering the shoe otherwise online through the company’s own SNKRS App.
