Clifford Hards, who has died aged 89, was a low-cost holiday pioneer who launched a national newspaper which lasted for a single edition.
The Birmingham-based Planet on Sunday was conceived as a competitor to the Mail on Sunday and the Sunday Express, but with a focus on the environmental issues, health scares and Eurosceptic sentiments that were close to the heart of Cliff Hards.
