thelma gutierrez looks back at the tragic day. we have breaking news, several people have been shot. the shooting occurred at a grocery store [ siren ] we have discovered that we have 18 individuals who were shot. reporter: january 8, 2011. a date tucson will never forget. the bodies laying on the concrete. the screaming, the crying, the bleeding. reporter: 19 people were shot that day, six of them died. the youngest, 9-year-old kristina green, one of many who had gone to the store to meet arizona congresswoman gabrielle giffords. then the gunshot. reporter: christina was shot in the chest. i was holding hands with christina, we were eyeball to eyeball. she was confused and scared. and i knew when we were laying on the ground outside of safeway, the light went out of her eyes.
