Students at the University of Central Oklahoma held the first of what may be several demonstrations on Wednesday, objecting to the threat of losing favored instructors due to budget cuts.
SB 612 would make providing an abortion at any stage of a pregnancy a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine, Rep. Jim Olsen said.
Should the measures be approved by lawmakers and placed on the ballot, a simple majority of Oklahoma voters would then be able to change the state constitution.
