New Augusta Library reopens after closure due to COVID, financial strain By Will Polston | April 27, 2021 at 7:09 PM CDT - Updated April 27 at 7:09 PM
NEW AUGUSTA, Miss. (WDAM) - The New Augusta Library is open again after a closure caused by COVID-19 and financial strain.
A financial strain led to multiple libraries closing their doors, leaving only the New Augusta and Richton libraries in Perry County.
Unfortunately, many people are not aware of the fact that they are open yet again.
“A lot of people think we’re closed, so we’d really like for people to know that we are open, and we would welcome anyone to come in,” said Chairwoman Janet Gallaspy. “Ask us for a book and if we don’t have it, we will try to get it for you.”
