SEATTLE Seattle Children s Hospital is about the begin the next phase of the COVID-19 vaccine trials. The hospital will begin trials on children between five and 12-years-old next week. Seattle Children s is looking for children as young as six-months to participate throughout the summer. Many of them are really excited about it. They want to know what research is, they want to know how they can help, said Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Dr. Janet Englund, who is helping lead the trial at Seattle Children s.

Seattle Children s gears up to vaccinate kids as young as 12. Younger kids could soon follow May 12, 2021
With that, children 12 to 15 years old will soon be receiving their Pfizer shots. And vaccine trials for children under 12 are expected to begin by the end of the month.
Dr. Janet Englund with Seattle Children s Hospital says she is gearing up for those trials to begin in children as young as 6 months. She says children are eager to take their turn, even if that involves a typically not-so-welcome needle.
