Letter: Libraries still providing services

Letter: Libraries still providing services By Terry Vetter, Kalama Share: I just read Janet Easley’s letter imploring everyone to “Question Authority!” because she claims the library system is not free and open during the pandemic (“Keep libraries open,” Our Readers’ Views, Dec. 9). She alleges unnamed “authorities” are keeping the Fort Vancouver Regional Library system closed because it is not essential, wasting our tax monies. I suggest we question Janet Easley, and all those who shout misinformed, unsupported complaints in the name of patriotic platitudes. The truth is, the treasures of the library have remained freely accessible throughout the pandemic. I use the catalog to place books on hold, listen to downloaded audiobooks and music, watch movies, and read e-books, magazines and newspapers.
