Janet Easley wants Washington to be “life friendly” and is grateful her parents chose to give birth to her (“Thankful for life,” Our Readers’ Views, March 28).
A local chapter of an organization for veterans’ spouses and family members received a visit from the national head of the organization Wednesday morning.
Letter: Libraries still providing services By Terry Vetter, Kalama

I just read Janet Easley’s letter imploring everyone to “Question Authority!” because she claims the library system is not free and open during the pandemic (“Keep libraries open,” Our Readers’ Views, Dec. 9). She alleges unnamed “authorities” are keeping the Fort Vancouver Regional Library system closed because it is not essential, wasting our tax monies.
I suggest we question Janet Easley, and all those who shout misinformed, unsupported complaints in the name of patriotic platitudes. The truth is, the treasures of the library have remained freely accessible throughout the pandemic. I use the catalog to place books on hold, listen to downloaded audiobooks and music, watch movies, and read e-books, magazines and newspapers.
