Waging Peace
Brainwashed to Violence
As I was trying to wrap my head around the implications of the attack on the Capitol in preparation for writing for this week’s blog, my friend Kristin Christman sent me the piece below.
Since the events of 9/11, Kristin has been working tirelessly, through scholarly historical, psychological and sociological research and deep personal reflection, to analyze both the roots of and alternatives to violence especially as applied to current US foreign policy.
The shadow of the 2001 event has served as an incentive and goad for her as a thinker and writer to carve out a new playbook, one which might guide our leaders to a foreign policy built on a commitment to above all diplomacy and conflict resolution rather than division and endless war.
