A sizeable deployment of Gardaí arrived to the store before midnight and manhandled the strikers to allow KPMG to remove stock from the store.
Gardaí indicated that they were carrying out a court order to allow the liquidators to enter the store.
Henry Street Debenhams protest broken up by Gardaí By Kevin O Mahony
Ex-workers were protecting stock from being removed from the Henry Street site.
A demonstration was being held to prevent removal trucks from leaving with stock, that the former workers want to protect as a bargaining chip.
When members of the Gardai came on the scene Shop Steward Jane Crowe says things became physical: 50 or 60 Gardaí came there; there was 30 staff on the loading bay. They ended up carrying us out, I was carried out and I was carried so forcefully that my coat and my top was taken off over my head and my underwear was broken.
