Chamber Grows Talented Workforce Through Leadership Development Program

The Moore County Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting applications for the 2021/2022 Moore County Leadership Institute (MCLI). For 32 years, this comprehensive program has created an environment where participants can discover Moore County, expand their networks, grow leadership skills, and serve the community. More than 600 individuals have participated in MCLI since its inception. The pandemic presented challenges with meeting in person throughout 2020, therefore, the Chamberâs staff went back to the drawing board to structure the program in a way that followâs COVID-19 protocols. MLCI now has two options for enrollment: a fall course beginning in August 2021, and a winter course in January of 2022. Each course will run 11-months and will be capped at 15 participants.

People of the Pines: The Pilot s 20 Under 40

The Pilot asked our readers to help us find young professionals deserving of this award through an open nominations phase in January and February of this year. We received over 170 nominations identifying 120 candidates. An independent panel of judges comprised of Moore County business and community leaders evaluated the nominees based solely on the information that was provided in the nomination. They were specifically looking for professional success, proven leadership skills and a rÃ©sumÃ© of community service. Likely, you will see familiar faces. Maybe, youâll find your next realtor, physician or financial advisor. While only 20 people could be chosen for this honor, it is very clear that Moore County is rich with hard-working and determined young professionals. We wish we could honor all 120 candidates today, but weâll have to wait until next year to meet more of these capable young people who live and work among us.
