The concept is simple: 100 (or so) women meet for one hour, once a year, and each one brings $100. Each member can nominate a local 501(c)3 charity by writing the name of the organization on a slip of paper. The slips are dropped into a basket. Three charities are drawn at random. The person who nominated the charity gets five minutes to make a presentation about the group, sharing what they do and what they would do if given the money. After the three presentations, those present vote silently on which of the three organizations should be awarded the annual donation.
