PHOTO: AFP PESHAWAR: A one-day session of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was adjourned indefinitely after the swearing in of newly elected member Ikhtiar Wali and passing of a resolution declaring the assembly hall polling station for the Senate elections. Provincial assembly met on Monday with Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani in the chair. The house offered fateha for the late senator Mushahid Ullah Khan and others. On this occasion, the newly elected member Ikhtiarwali was welcomed by other members of the house. The speaker administered oath on Ikhtiar Wali who was welcomed by party MPAs with slogans of deakho deakho kon aya sher aya, sher aya.

APP/File PESHAWAR: Issuing a stay order, a single-member Peshawar High Court bench on Thursday stopped the provincial anti-corruption establishment (ACE) from arresting the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s MPA, Jamshed Mohmand, during an ongoing inquiry into the alleged corruption in the award of certain contracts of development projects by the Takhtbhai tehsil municipal administration in Mardan district. Justice Mohammad Naeem Anwar issued notices to the ACE director and its assistant director in Mardan seeking their comments about the lawmaker’s petition within a fortnight. He fixed Jan 14 for the next hearing into the petition with directions for the ACE not to arrest him until that date.

ANP, PML-N leaders vow to get nation rid of fake rulers

Peshawar December 20, 2020 TAKHTBHAI: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Awami National Party leaders on Saturday said that the incompetent and fake rulers had no other option but to quit government soon. Speaking at a press conference here at the residence of Member Provincial Assembly Jamshed Khan Mohmand, PML-N provincial chief Amir Muqam said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was a strong force of patriotic politicians and the incumbent government was scared of its popularity. Muslim Youth Wing president Saqib Khan, Hameed Safi, former nazim Nawab Ali and others were also present on the occasion. Amir Muqam said that the upcoming public meeting of PDM on December 23 in Mardan would be historic one and the incapable rulers would be forced to quit the government.
