JAMMU, Apr 29: Senior Congress leaders today urged the J&K UT Administration not to deny PDS food grains/ ration to the beneficiaries.
Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla claimed that with a growing number of people without ration cards finding it difficult to get free food during the COVID-19 crisis, Govt should temporarily universalise their public distribution system (PDS).
Interacting with aggrieved people of Sanjay Nagar in Jammu South, Bhalla sought clear guidelines to ensure no one remains without ration. Give free grains even to those who don’t have a ration card either as part of a Central Government scheme or the other. People who don’t have a ration card or even Aadhaar card should be eligible for free dry ration. These include nomadic communities as well and migrant labourers settled in J&K, he added.

DC reviews enforcement of ban on constructions in Nikki Tawi area

JAMMU, Feb 5: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, today reviewed the enforcement of ban on the construction in Nikki Tawi area near 4th Tawi Bridge, here at a meeting.
The meeting discussed the strategy to thwart the land grabbing efforts in the area. The District Magistrate Jammu has already imposed restrictions on all kinds of constructions in the Nikki Tawi area under Section 144 of CrPC.
The Jammu Development Authority was directed to strengthen its enforcement and increase the vigil on the land belonging to it.

JAMMU, Jan 31: Oil Industry J&K comprising IOC, BPC & HPC under the flag of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) organized a cycle rally wherein over 200 cyclists participated, here today.
The Cyclothon was flagged off by chief guest Deepak Digra, SP City Jammu South in presence of Rajiv Yadav, State Level Co-coordinator cum DGM (RS) IOCL from Indian Oil Divisional Office complex at Rail Head Jammu.
The objective of the Cyclothon was to make the citizens aware about the need of conservation of petroleum products as these are limited and will deplete over the years to come. Deepak Digra gave a brief on oil conservation by employing various day to day activities.
