JKSAC seeks high level probe in violation of Agrarian Reforms Act

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, June 14: The Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) a legendry organisation articulating the final settlement cause of DPs of 1947 from POK since 1976, has reiterated its demand for constitution of high level committee to probe the violation of Agrarian Reform Act 1976 being committed by Revenue Department since decades under the patronage of their senior officers particularly in respect of DPs settled on lands in the rural areas of Jammu Province. The participants in the meeting appealed to Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha and Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary Revenue to take cognizance of this sensitive issue seriously and urged upon to intervene to put a rein on revenue officers/officials particularly tehsildar and Patwaris having no respect for the law and are looting the people in broad-day light. JKSAC takes up issues with LG JKSAC takes up issues with LG Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Dec 23: A five member delegation of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) comprising, Dwarka Nath Khajuria, Santosh Kumar Sharma, Inderjeet Singh and Pitamber Dutt led by Gurdev Singh its president called upon Manoj Kumar Sinha, Lt Governor, UT of J&K. The delegation apprised him as to how DPs were thrown out from their native places by Pakistani Tribals from PoK at the wee hours of Oct 7, 1947. They came to this side of J&K with empty pockets and bare footed and suffered untold sufferings and injustice at the hands of earlier State and Centre dispensation. The delegation urged upon the Lt Governor to prepare a comprehensive rehabilitation policy for DPs as per the latest Parliamentary Committee’s on Home Affairs Report No. 183, till PoK is liberated by India from the illegal occupation of Pakistan.

The delegation of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Jammu led by its President, Sh. Gohar Hafeez Fani apprised the Lt Governor about various peace initiatives and charitable programmes undertaken by the community for establishing peace and harmony in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The deputation also assured their cooperation in the overall welfare of Jammu and Kashmir.
