The beginning of “Fail Safe” had me nervous. After last week’s climactic fight for Superman’s soul, this episode seemed primed to be logistics-focused filler that stretched out the hunt for Leslie Larr ahead of the final two episodes of the season. But while “Fail Safe”
is focused on the fallout from last week’s episode, it smartly prioritizes emotions over plot. This episode returns to the slower, character-centric pace of the beginning of the season, but with all the weight of the show’s recent incident to back it up. And that turns out to be a combination every bit as thrilling as any conventional action scene.

Marvel’s Avengers. Judge explained that he was initially very hesitant to take on the role:
“I turned it down straight away. There’s many Black Panthers, but I really didn’t believe that anyone should ever do T’Challa again [after Chadwick Boseman]. The actual talks proceeded and, basically, I wound up doing it because my mother and my children said if I didn’t do it, they would disown me.”

Next week, Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) deals with the fallout of his actions from tonight s episode and tries to come to grips with how he felt during his near-takeover, openly questioning whether his being on Earth is safe for his family and the future of humanity at large.Â
With Tal-Rho (Adam Rayner) temporarily in custody, it looks like the next episode will see the Man of Steel pay him a visit and seek out some answers about what the hostile Kryptonian is really up to. Meanwhile, Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) finds a distraction at school and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) teams up with Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) on an urgent story.
