A Faridpur court sent a man to jail yesterday on charge of raping a 13-year-old girl in Gopalganj s Kashiani upazila.
The accused is Md Sumon Mollah, 25, son of Md Sher Ali Mollah of Jatigram village under Alfadanga upazila in Faridpur.
In a press conference, Jamal Pasha, additional superintendent of police in Faridpur, confirmed the matter.
According to a press release issued by Alfadanga Police Station, the victim stays at her maternal uncle s house.
She was returning home after bathing at a pond around 1:30pm on April 30 when Sumon forcibly took her to a field of one Amir Mia of Jatigram village, raped her and left.
