The Festival of Northern Lights will continue to be powered up for much of the provincial shutdown.
Organizers decided to extend the annual lights-and-displays festival by two weeks. It’s now set to end Jan. 17, six days before lockdown restrictions aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19 are set to be lifted.

“When we heard about the provincial lockdown, we got together, virtually, as a board and decided – why not keep the festival going just to add some brightness during a time when it might be needed?” festival board chair Jamie Walpole said in an interview.
