Wyoming state park fees increased starting January 1st preference given in booking to Wyomingites Abby Maidl CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Wyoming State Parks proposed fee increases last year to offset budget cuts. They were approved and came into effect on January 1st. Jamie Simonson, superintendent at Sinks Canyon State Park noted how it was important in state decision making to consider locals, first. “We’re a Wyoming state park, so we want to cater to our residents that live here in our state, so we want to make sure that our fees are lower for them, and that they can have that extra opportunity to make sure that they can enjoy their state parks,” stated Simonson.

11 First Day Hikes across Wyoming State Parks today

11 First Day Hikes across Wyoming State Parks today Abby Maidl LANDER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Eleven different first day hikes were held today across Wyoming at state parks, an easy way to get some vitamin D and exercise, to boot. On New Years Day, a lot of people are busy thinking about getting their exercise routines in place, while some others were already out getting active at state parks across the nation, and all across Wyoming. Sinks Canyon State Park Superintendent, Jamie Simonson, stated “This is our sixth year of doing the first day hike, this came from Cheyenne, it’s done nationally. Wyoming State Parks and cultural resources wanted to get involved in this, we thought it was such a great idea to get people outdoors doing something fun on the first day of the year.”
