New York veterans threaten to sue after they are blocked from marching on Memorial Day despite city approving cannabis parade and BLM protests A Staten Island veterans group is threatening to sue the city if it doesn t get approval of its permit for a Memorial Day parade The veterans were planning a smaller version of their annual parade  They filed a permit with the NYPD in February, but were told it was denied in early March  The city has previously allowed Black Lives Matter protests and even a Cannabis Parade on May 1 Cannabis Parade organizers received their permit from the Parks Department
