Jamie Barberio will return as mayor of Parsippany (Morris County), defeating Democrat incumbent Michael Soriano.
The GOP also took 5-0 control of council. It's a return to control for Republicans in the traditionally red county's most populous community.

Today, the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825 announced its endorsement of James Barberio for Mayor, Frank Neglia and Deborah Orme for Township Council in the upcoming Republican primary election.
Greg Lalevee, Business Manager of IUOE Local 825 released the following statement:
“Jamie Barberio was one of the strongest local development and infrastructure champions the members of 825 had in New Jersey during his time as Mayor. He made great strides in putting Parsippany Troy-Hills on the map as one of our states great places to live, work and raise a family. We have no doubt in the type of municipal leader he will be once again. We are proud to support his effort in the upcoming primary election.
