Joan Alice Mero, passed from this world at her home in Dunkirk, Maryland on December 14th and is living eternally with her Lord in Heaven. She passed away peacefully, comfortably, and surrounded by her family.
Joan was born in Plattsburgh, New York, the daughter of Wilbur A. and Helen C. (Farnsworth) Goodroe. She graduated from Westport Central School in 1964 and attended Plattsburgh State College in NY. She graduated from college in 1968 and went on to pursue her Masters in Education.
Joan became an elementary school teacher in New York and continued educating young minds in Maryland starting in 1972. Her love for children made this a natural career choice which brought her much joy.
