A Bethalto man was charged Thursday in Madison County Circuit Court with unlawful possession of methamphetamine. A Bethalto officer on Wednesday stopped a vehicle driven by 33-year-old James J. Pugh. The officer allegedly found more than 15 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia.
Pugh was taken into custody and transported to the Madison County Jail. Associate Judge Janet Heflin set Pugh’s bond at $50,000. Pugh was out on bond for a previous felony methamphetamine-related charge. The bond on that previous charge was revoked in response to this new charge.

EDWARDSVILLE An Alton woman faces several methamphetamine-related felony charges related to a December incident.
Nicole A. McCane, 33, of Alton, was charged April 8 with unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class X felony; and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on Dec. 30 McCane allegedly was found to be in possession of more than 15 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, and on Jan. 12 was found to be in possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine.
