NASA's James Webb Space Telescope launched successfully early Christmas morning from French Guiana on South America’s northeastern coast, riding a European Ariane rocket into the sky.
Ahead of launch, the James Webb Space Telescope was loaded into the fairing of an Ariane 5 rocket, and moved on to the launch pad at the Europeans Space Agency facility in French Guiana.
The JWST is scheduled to launch from the European Space Agency spaceport in French Guiana on Saturday, December 25 at 12:20 GMT atop an Ariane 5 rocket.
