All proceeds raised will benefit the Samaritan Center, SafetyNet and Central Missouri Community Action with a goal of $30,000. The event also included live music by the Dave Baker Band, a live and silent auction that included a signed helmet by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahones and a raffle for a wheel barrel of party favors worth $500.

Rolla Choral Arts Society holding free outdoor concert Sunday featuring music inspired by pandemic

RDN REPORTS rdnnews@gmail.com The Rolla Choral Arts Society is holding a free concert in The Gardens between St. James Winery and Public House Brewing Company featuring the Rolla Community Choir, Rolla Choral Arts Society Jazz Choir, Trilogy and a host of additional instrumentalists. The outdoor concert called “The Road Home” will feature a variety of music inspired by the pandemic to celebrate community and the human spirit to overcome adversity, according to Rolla Choral Arts Society s artistic and executive director, Jeff Sandquist. The Rolla Choral Arts Society singers continued to sing somewhat together during the pandemic with the series of “sing-along” Zoom experiences in the fall and winter. 

St James Winery receives grant through Missouri Agriculture Department s Missouri Grown program

RDN REPORTS rdnnews@gmail.com To celebrate Buy Missouri Day, the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Missouri Grown program announced funding for St. James Winery and 13 other retail businesses that carry Missouri Grown products.  The Missouri Grown Retail Promotion Matching Grant awards up to $1,000 per retail store to reimburse expenses associated with promoting Missouri Grown member products. “Our Missouri Grown members have told us that placing product in retail stores is one of the biggest challenges to their future growth,” Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn said. “With this new grant opportunity, we’ve identified willing business owners that want to solve that challenge. I’m excited to see the growing opportunity pay off for our small businesses, while helping consumers find Missouri products.”
