Adventure Bar Group takes first steps outside London heartland
Experiential cocktail bar company, the Adventure Bar Group, has unveiled a pair of landmark venues in Birmingham – its first steps beyond its London heartland.
The group now operates 12 sites across London and Birmingham, including branded bars Tonight Josephine, Bar Elba, Blame Gloria and The Escapologist.
Led by founders Thomas Kidd and Tobias Jackson, the Group debuted the first of two new sites on Monday 12 April with the launch of an outdoor bar and dining concept Luna Springs in Digbeth before the opening of second site, Tonight Josephine, in Birmingham’s city centre in May.

Diageo named best FTSE 100 company for female leadership
Drinks giant Diageo has been named in the Hampton-Alexander Review as the top company in both the FTSE 100 and in the beverage sector for representation of women at board, executive and leadership level.
The Hampton-Alexander Review is an independent, business-led framework supported by the UK Government which has set recommendations for FTSE 350 companies to improve the representation of women on their boards and in leadership positions.

Work underway at new 42 BrewDog sites
Unveiling an artist’s impression of a new site in Atlanta on Twitter, BrewDog co-founder James Watt revealed that the independent Scottish brewer and bar operator currently has 42 sites in its expansion pipeline.
“Others include Belfast, London, Paris, Vegas, Bath, Exeter, Mumbai, Sydney, Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, Gurgaon, Lyon, Milan, Chester, Durham, Hyderabad & Cleveland,” Watt added.
The announcement came after BrewDog chief executive officer David McDowall revealed that 28 sites were put into “hibernation” as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
THE STRIP A Scottish brewery and pub has big plans to open a rooftop bar on the Las Vegas Strip. James Watt, the co-founder of Ellon, Scotland-based BrewDog, posted renderings and a video from a future site of a brewery and pub atop the Showcase Mall. Watt says the rooftop bar will feature a swimming pool, an urban forest, and a beer museum, as well as a 10 barrel brewing system. Watt says the bar will offer its new special edition Elvis Juice, a grapefruit beer. The brewery already has U.S. locations in Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Columbus, Ohio, with collections of its own beers on tap and in bottles. [Scottish Daily Record]
