A sentencing hearing begins today for Sergeant Bowe bergdahl. Last week he pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehavior for walking away from his post in afghanistan in 2009. Bergdahl was held captive for five years by taliban allies before being brought home in a controversial prisoner swap. The defense will argue that President Trump tainted the case. 8,000 structures burned, most of them homes, and 42 people died in the fires. Fire crews have been working nonstop to extinguish the flames. They hope to reach full containment by october 25th, wednesday. The estimated damage caused by the fires is in the billions of dollars.
