NEW HAVEN Lori Burton wrote timeless songs for The Young Rascals and Patti LaBelle & the Bluebelles, and for years co-owned one of the most famous recording studios in the world recording and mastering the likes of John Lennon, Stevie Wonder, Aerosmith, Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.
Much of that happened in New York City.
But long before she and her late former husband, Roy Cicala, bought the Record Plant New York City and started working with some of music’s biggest names, Burton who also sang backup on some of Lennon’s solo albums was born in New Haven in 1940 as Dolores Diana Squeglia.
