Specialty Printing – a company whose labels can be found across America on everything from prescription bottles and groceries to beer cans – recently signed a 10-year lease on a 330,000-square-foot building in Windsor.
Joseph O’Brien, Specialty’s vice president of finance, said the 45-year-old company plans to move its manufacturing, distribution and headquarters out of three East Windsor buildings and into a building at 123 Day Hill Road in Windsor by the end of this year.
Missouri-based NorthPoint Development is pressing forward with a speculative effort to build a nearly 750,000-square-foot distribution center inside Windsor’s Great Pond Village mixed-use development.
NorthPoint was originally slated to team up with Great Pond master developer Winstanley Enterprises to build a massive distribution hub for pet products giant Chewy. After Chewy backed away from the deal earlier this year, NorthPoint decided to press ahead independently and build a distribution center on a speculative basis.
Pet products retail Chewy may not be coming to a new mega-warehouse in Windsor after all, but a developer still plans to construct the 750,000-square-foot building and seek different tenants.
JLL has been retained by NorthPoint Development as exclusive leasing agent for a new 750,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, logistics facility in Windsor, CT. Construction will begin in June 2022 for a planned delivery in April 2023. Located at 500 Groton Road, in the Day Hill Road corridor, the speculative new.
