A violent drug-dealer who punched and kicked a vulnerable man for an hour before putting a blade to his throat has been jailed.
The sentence comes after Chelmsford drug-dealer Mohammad Mahaboob, 20, recruited a drug user to sell for him with the promise of being paid up to a £120 a day.
The victim, a man in his 30s, took on the work to fund his own drugs habit, although was not paid and instead took some of the narcotics himself.
Learning of his losses, Mahaboob ordered him to a flat in Romford where he proceeded to punch and kick him in the face and body for an hour.

Mumbai Indians fielding coach James Pamment returned to NZ on Saturday.
Kiwi cricket coach James Pamment says he always felt safe from Covid-19 during his stint in the IPL, but travel for the team became the major concern. Pamment, the fielding coach with the Mumbai Indians, was among a group of players and coaches who arrived back in New Zealand on Saturday night on a private jet after the Twenty20 competition was postponed last week over health worries. With coronavirus cases rapidly escalating in India and a number of cases emerging within a couple of the IPL franchises, the league was halted and the New Zealanders involved left the country – some returning home while a number of the Black Caps flew to the Maldives in transition to England ahead of a two-test series against the hosts and the World Test Championship final versus India in June.
Seifert remained in India after he failed both his pre-departure tests and was taken into quarantine, New Zealand Cricket confirmed, adding he was experiencing moderate symptoms. NZC said Seifert was awaiting transfer to Chennai, where he will be treated in the same private hospital as former Australia player Michael Hussey who also tested positive last week. Hussey was on the coaching staff with Fleming’s Chennai Super Kings.

Former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming hits the tarmac in Auckland. Once Seifert has undergone treatment and the statutory period of isolation and has tested negative for Covid-19, he will be transferred back to New Zealand where he will undergo the mandatory 14-day period of managed isolation.
