I think you can make out the profile. But its not the first thing you look at. He is not coming at us full faced, straight on in living, visit color. The saturated color you see is in the clothing. I thought, you know, that does encapsulate what i am trying to do. Yes, this is about jefferson. But its not the usual biography. You know, we begin with the birth. We hit all the high points and end with his death. When i am looking at really is more about the person and i do use the clothing a lot in this study. I thought, ok, this is leading into it very well. So i thought this does work. This is what i need here. Give, for example, a lesson on 9 11 in which you would have a class of 30 students go out and as soon as they turn to each other, theyll go, you know it was an inside job, but not necessarily bring it up in class, dependsing on your class environment and atmosphere. If i tell them that i work on conspiracies, the floodgates are opened to an all kinds of circus show that can come out. Right . All kinds of things from the very banal to the highly disturbing and to the highly disturbingly specific. It is important to talk about how these things work, how widespread they are and what causes people to hold on to them. If we see this only as part of not us, something we dont address, something we dont talk about, then it changes how we see these beliefs. It now seems to be mostly of interest to the politicians as a source of people freeing the u. S. , that throughout our history, the americans have been intertwined. Resources, people, new ideas, culture and consequences have blogged up and down the hemisphere. Most is unknown in the u. S. And this is the perfect person to recount the history. Shes done that now with respect to the Second World War. She is the real deal. Shes a journalist who spent years in the region walking its path listening to its ministers but also its person, witnessing its important moments. She was there when they were murdered in a salvador. I sat next to her as we watched guatemalas former dictators stand for genocide. She knows the region, the plague years, the issues but also the humanity and generosity of people willing to tell their stories, the absurdity of political theate
