Victoria Hospital incident: Dunfermline woman jailed

Dunfermline man jailed for incident at home of ex-partner

Paul Haughian, 35, of Abel Place, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. He admitted that on November 9, at an address in Dunfermline, he attended a house uninvited, shouted, swore, refused to leave when asked to do so, and kicked and struck a door there repeatedly. He also admitted that having been granted bail on October 31, on condition that he did not contact his former partner, he breached this order. Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said: “Alcohol played a role and he was subject to bail conditions at the time.” Sheriff Alison Michie pointed out that Haughian had a “chronic” history of offending with 10 previous convictions for domestic crimes.

Rosyth woman twice the limit after drinking Prosecco the night before

Susan Anderson, 47, of Newton Crescent, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. She admitted that on November 14, at Queensferry Road, Rosyth, she drove having consumed excess alcohol. Her reading was 45 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes. Depute fiscal Alastair McDermid said Anderson was stopped by police at 9.45am. The officers could smell alcohol from her breath. Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said his client had been drinking the night before, consuming two bottles of Prosecco. “It was an error of judgement to drive,” he added. Sheriff Alastair Brown said: “She must have had a considerable amount of alcohol if this was her reading the next day.”
