the operation is considered so critical. one marine commander tells his troops it could change history. sonia is following developments in london this morning. reporter: good morning. it s been dubbed by one commander as a d-day. there have been early inroads made in the massive military operation. initial reports suggest that taliban forces have so far put up minimal resistance but. now, this is a very tough area of fighting. in at that the first day loan, one u.s. marine was killed and several wounded. the u.s. marine have fanned out across the helmand province ashes stronghold. now helmand is considered to be heartland. the afghan government there is very scare government presence, which has allowed for the taliban to filter in and thrive there, ruling with a fierce grip and also they have their poppy harvest. now for the obama administration this operation lab true test to see if the search will be as effective. we ve seen how the administration s foreign policy ha
